California ignores Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Paris accord

California is committed to continue the fight against climate change.

It seems that Donald Trump doesn’t speak for all the U.S. states when it comes to climate change.

California Governor Jerry Brown, stated after Trump’s announcement to withdraw the country from the Paris climate agreement that California will lead a state level movement that will ignore Trump’s exit from the Paris climate accord.

California is completely committed and will go further to meet the emission goals signed by the U.S. at the Paris climate summit in December, 2015.

On Thursday, Trump announced that the U.S. will withdraw from the Paris accord due to the fact that reducing carbon emissions could threaten millions of jobs in the U.S., but Governor Brown is convinced that the fight against climate change creates new jobs in the renewable energy sector.

In addition, Trump’s decision to remove the country from the Paris climate accord creates room for China to become the world leader in renewable energy and clean technology development.

California leads the movement of the U.S. states that will ignore Trump’s decision on the Paris accord, and considers that we all have an obligation to reduce our carbon footprint.

Governor Brown is convinced that the carbon goals can be achieved according to the Paris agreement, if the state continues to close down coal plants, builds more wind power plants, increases the capacity to generate solar power, and improves energy efficiency at the community level.

All these activities related to the renewable energy sector are creating new jobs, and is up to the communities and the U.S. states to reduce the level of harmful emissions and continue the fight against climate change, despite Trump’s opinion on global warming.

A state level movement to cap greenhouse gases and carbon emissions will show the world that when it comes to protect the environment and reduce the level of harmful emissions, the U.S. is still the world leader.
