What is Faraday Future?
Faraday Future is an American start-up technology company that uses Chinese capital to develop intelligent electric vehicles.
The company was established in 2014 and today is headquartered in Gardena, California.
The name of the company comes from the founding principles of the electric motor technology, which are known as the Faraday’s law of induction.
In January 2016, the company debuted its first concept vehicle called FFZERO1, which is a single-seat electric car, at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show, but without providing a schedule for the production series.
Faraday Future plans to launch its first fully-electric car at the beginning of 2017 (actually on January 3, 2017 at CES 2017).
To show the world that their electric car is a unique vehicle, the company already organized a few drag races between their FF Prototype and a few petrol-based supercars such as: Bentley Bentayga and Ferrari 488 GTB, but also against the Tesla Model X P100D.
Faraday Future Prototype managed to win all the races, and about a week ago, the FF Prototype won a drag race even against a Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous.
It seems that is plenty of room for a faster and maybe even cheaper electric car (excepting the electric hypercars such as Rimac Concept One and Nio EP9, which have a price that exceeds $1 million).
We need to wait five more days to find more data about the FF Prototype, but I have a feeling that the electric car industry will gain a new and valuable asset at the CES 2017.
