Mercedes EQ can be a Tesla Model X killer?

2017 Mercedes-Benz Generation EQ represents the company’s vision for a future electric SUV.

Mercedes EQ is only a concept for the moment, but considering the fact that the company already has its own team that is focusing on electric vehicles, we can expect to see that the EQ Concept is actually a forerunner of the future electric models of SUVs, sedans and coupes built by the company.

Why the EQ can be considered an electric SUV that can seriously affect the Tesla Model X sales?

Let’s compare the Mercedes EQ Concept with a Tesla Model X with that has a similar battery pack to see which one is better.

Giving the fact that Mercedes EQ uses a 70 kWh lithium-ion battery, we can compare the vehicle with the Tesla Model X 75D, which uses a 75 kWh lithium-ion battery.

We are talking about a concept here, Mercedes-Benz EQ is not a street car like Tesla is, but we can make the comparison because the modular architecture of the EQ Concept, will be used on all the future electric vehicles produced by Mercedes-Benz.

Beside Mercedes-Benz, we expect to see new electric SUVs produced by the other major car manufacturers in Europe (BMW and Volkswagen/Audi) because only a fierce competition between car manufacturers will improve the quality of the vehicles and will lower the prices for the end user.
