Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous smashes a 2014 McLaren MP4-12C in a new drag race

Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous wins a recent drag race against a 2014 McLaren MP4-12C.

The beautiful weather outside is creating the perfect conditions for a new drag race.

Today, we have the chance to see a very recent race between the latest Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous and a very fast McLaren MP4-12C.

Let’s see the cars first:

Tesla Model S P100D Ludicrous is the fastest electric car ever built by Tesla, and due to its outrages acceleration, is considered the perfect electric supercar for a drag race.

Tesla is an electric supercar with all-wheel drive (AWD), which uses two electric motors generating 762 HP and 713 lb-ft. of torque.

The power of the two electric motors working together is impressive, but the weight of the vehicle is also impressive (4,950 pounds).

The electric car is so heavy due to its battery pack, but even so, can do 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, and the quarter mile in 10.7 seconds.

2014 McLaren MP4-12C is a sports car built by McLaren Automotive, and uses a mid-mounted McLaren M838T 3.8-litre V8, twin-turbo petrol engine that develops 592 HP and 443 lb-ft. of torque.

The power developed by the V8 engine is not very impressive compared with the power developed by the two electric motors of the Tesla vehicle, but the smaller weight of the McLaren (3,161 pounds), manages to reduce the gap between the two vehicles.

McLaren MP4-12C does 0 to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, and the quarter mile in only 10.27 seconds, which makes it faster than Tesla.

On the track instead, there are numerous factors that can alter the figures on the paper (driver, weather conditions, reaction speed, and so on).

Is Tesla faster than the McLaren?
